International Marketing Strategies, Inc. ("IMS"), publisher of the Official Guide to Ship & Yacht Registries ("OGSR") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. IMS provides this Privacy Statement to inform you of our privacy policy and practices and of the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on the OGSR Web Site homepage.

Our policy regarding the privacy of your information covers privacy principles consistent with the Fair Information Practices and the U.S. - E.U. Safe Harbor Principles: Notice, Choice, Access and Accuracy, Onward Transfer Security and Oversight (Enforcement).

IMS uses personal information to better understand your needs and interest and provide you with better services. Once you chose to provide us with personal information, you can be assured that it will only be used to support your customer relationship with IMS. We take seriously the trust you place in us. IMS will not sell, rent or lease your personally identifiable information to others without your express permission.

This privacy statement covers personally identifiable information, anonymous data collection and aggregate reporting. Personally, identifiable information is any information that is associated with your name or personal identity. Anonymous (non-personal) information is data about usage and service operation, reported in aggregate, which is not associated to a specific personal identity. Aggregate information is data collected and summarized for a broad category of customers or IMS services.

What we collect

In order to access the OGSR Web Site, you must provide us with User ID and Password. In addition we may request that you provide us with additional personal information that may include name, address, phone, email address, billing information, transaction, credit card information and contact preferences.

To personalize our web sites, services or communications and improve our products and services, we may also ask you to provide us with information regarding your personal or professional interests, demographics, and experiences with our products or services. Providing this additional information is optional.

Anonymous (non-personal) data we collect may include the pages visited on the OGSR Web Site, unique URLs visited within the OGSR Web Site, browser type and IP address. Most anonymous data is collected via cookies or other analysis technologies. The OGSR Web Site pages use cookies, web beacons and other technologies for data analysis and personalization services. OGSR places ads on other web sites that may use cookies.

How we use it

IMS uses your information to help us understand your needs and interests and provide you with better services. Specifically, we use your information to communicate with you, to provide services and support, to update you on services and benefits, to personalize promotional offers and to personalize some IMS and/or OGSR Web Sites. Occasionally we may also use your information to contact you for market research regarding IMS and/or OGSR products and services. We will give you the opportunity to opt-out of market research and customer surveys. Credit card information is used only for payment processing and fraud prevention, and is not used for other purposes.

Data collected online may also be combined with information you provided through other sources such as product registration, call centers or public events such as trade shows or seminars.

Anonymous(non-personal) data is aggregated for reporting about the OGSR Web Site usability, performance, and effectiveness. It is used to improve the customer experience, usability and site content.

Who we share it with

IMS will not sell, rent, or lease your personally identifiable information to others. IMS will not share your personal information with a business partner or any unrelated third-party company unless you give your permission. For such use, your permission will be requested when you submit your information. IMS shares customer information across IMS business entities within the usage limits described above in "How we use it."

IMS contracts with third party service providers and suppliers to provide complete products, services and customer solutions described in "How we use it". These suppliers and service providers act on IMS's behalf and are bound to the IMS privacy policy contractually through IMS confidentiality and personal data protection agreements. suppliers and service providers are required to keep confidential the information received on behalf of IMS and may not use it for any purpose other than to carry out the services they are performing for IMS. These service providers may change or we may contract with additional service providers in order to provide new services IMS will not share personal information with any other third parties without your permission unless required by law enforcement action or subpoena.

Choice

You can subscribe to receive some product and service specific information and IMS-wide marketing communications. IMS-wide communications may include new product information, special offers or possible an invitation to participate in market research. we give you a choice regarding IMS-wide communications by postal mail and telephone. This option does not apply to communications for the purpose of administering order completion, contracts, support or driver updates.

IMS will not sell, rent or lease your personally identifiable information to unrelated third party companies unless you make that choice local country laws and policies are applied where they differ from those in the US.

Links provided on the OGSR web site to third party web sites are provided as a convenience and IMS does not control those sites or their privacy practices, which may differ from ours. IMS does not endorse or make any representations about them. we encourage you to review the privacy policy of any company before submitting your personal information. The personal data you choose to give to unrelated third parties is covered by their privacy policies, not the IMS Privacy policy some third-party companies may choose to share their personal data with IMS; that sharing is governed by that third-party company's privacy policy.

Onward Transfer

Personal data given to IMS may be transferred across state and country borders for the purposes of data consolidation, storage and simplified customer information management. The practices which govern this data movement are described in our commitments in the choice and security sections of this privacy statement.

Access & Accuracy

IMS strives to keep your personally identifiable information accurate. We have put in place managerial data standards review processes and technological tool to maintain customer data accuracy. We will provide you with access to view and change your information, including making every effort to provide you with online access. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity, such as a password and user ID, before granting access to your data. Certain areas of the OGSR Web Site may limit access to specific individuals through the use of passwords and other personal identifiers.

The most effective way to view and change your personal information is to return to the web page where you originally submitted your data and follow the instructions on that web page or send us a message as described in "Contact Us"  below. Data access is also available upon request.

Security

IMS is committed to ensuring the security of your information. To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, maintain data accuracy and ensure the appropriate use of the information, IMS has in place appropriate physical and managerial procedures to safeguard the information we collect.

We use SSL encryption when collecting or transferring sensitive data such as credit card information. Credit card numbers are only used for processing payment and are not used for other purposes. Our efforts to protect credit card fraud help protect your financial data security. As part of real-time payment processing, IMS subscribes to fraud management service. This service gives you and IMS an extra level of protection to guard against credit card fraud.

Oversight/Enforcement

IMS privacy practices are consistent with the U.S Department of commerce Safe Harbor Program. If you have comments or questions about our privacy policy or need help with registering your privacy preferences, please complete the web form found after clicking on "Contact OGSR" on your left-hand navigation bar. Select "Contact Us" and "Privacy" as your subject category from the pull-down menu (from the not product or service selections).

To opt-out of IMS marketing contact, please provide your name, email and/or address and relevant information about subscriptions or registrations you may have with IMS. This opt-out will cancel all marketing and support communication and newsletters, including software driver subscriptions.

How IMS uses cookies, web beacons and other analysis technologies on the OGSR Web Site and in third party ads:

Some IMS web pages and HTML-formatted email newsletters use web beacons in conjunction with cookies to compile aggregate statistics about web site usage. IMS does not post third-party ads on the OGSR Web Site. IMS may use third-party media companies to place ads for IMS products or services other companies’ websites. If you view a web page where IMS ads appear, the online media company may place a cookie or web beacon on the user's computer. This allows the online media company to recognize the computer when it is used to return to that site or measure advertising response. This data is anonymous and is not linked to personal data on the user's computer or any IMS databases. some IMS newsletters delivered on IMS's behalf by online media companies use the same technologies.
