Marshall Islands Registry Approaches 100m GT

The Marshall Islands Registry is poised to surpass the 100 million gross tons mark by the end of this year.

International Registries, Inc.'s worldwide business operations officer Theo Xenakoudis quoted the fleet as approximately 95 million gt at the 12th Annual Marine Money Asia Week this week.

Looking back at OGSR figures from this past year, the Marshall Islands fleet has grown from 85m gt last September to 95m 1 year later, so provided the fleet continues to expand at this rate or higher over the next few months it will reach 100m gt very soon.
