Belgium Introduces Armed Guards Legislation

Belgium has introduced regulations regarding use of armed security personnel onboard its ships.

Belgium will require the armed guards be registered and formal reporting procedures be followed, to "send out a clear no-trigger-happy-cowboys signal" says the Belgian Shipowners Association.

The legislation should be fully developed this summer.
