The Marshall Islands has surpassed the Bahamas in the World Flags Table, becoming the world's third largest registry, only behind Panama and Liberia. Its growth rate over the last year was over three times the Bahamas' growth rate.
According to Clarkson Research Services, the Marshall Islands had accumulated 50.7 gt as of the start of 2010.
The Bahamas had accumulated 49.6 gt, yet has registered 27 more ships than the Marshall Islands.
