Indian Tonnage Surpasses 10 Million, Indian Register of Shipping Joins IACS

Indian Minister of Shipping Shri G.K. Vasan announced on March 3, 2011 that the national fleet tonnage has surpassed 10 million gross tons and as of January 31 was reported at 10.38 million GT.

Additionally, the Indian Registrar of Shipping attained a full membership in the International Association of Classification Societies on June 6, 2010.

ITF calls for Turkey to end embargo on Cyprus-flagged ships

The ITF has requested a lifting of Turkey's embargo on Cypriot-flagged ships in the hopes of creating more equal opportunities for both Cypriot and Turkish laborers.
