The Jersey Ship Registry has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the United Kingdom's Maritime and Coast Guard Authority (MCA) allowing it to register commercial vessels of up to 399 gross tons.
The European Commission has identified Belize, Cambodia and Guinea-Conakry as three registries that "have not made not made credible progress in fulfilling their duties under international law and have failed to improve the situation” after receiving warnings from the EC in 2012 regarding illegal fishing
