Wrecks Convention (2007) enters into force 14 April 2015

Our friends at the UK Maritime & Coast Guard Agency have issued a very useful Marine Information Note providing details about the convention and how to obtain the required certificate for UK flag vessels. Especially useful were instructions for vessels that are not required to have an International Tonnage (69) certificate.

Ministry of Shipping - India Issues New Draft Guidelines for Bareboat Charter

The draft guidelines are open for comment until Jan. 23, 2015 and appear to be primarily an effort to open more training slots aboard Indian flagged vessels.

Reederei NSB ditches German flag and 486 European seafarers

The German flag is to lose its largest ship manager by the end of June 2017 as Reederei NSB's flags-out its fleet of 38 containerships by the deadline, with the layoff of 486 onboard personnel.
